Ruthless Demon King by Nikki St. Crowe

4.0

Wrath & Rain... these two lit up the pages!

The first book in the series started off with a bang! I loved the Demon King, Wrath and his fated "nobody" heroine, Rain Low.

I loved Rain from the very beginning. She is a feisty, strong-willed character who has always been expected to "simmer down", comply, and do what is expected of her. However, there is a fire within her that burns to be defiant and be her own person. She's sick of being pushed around. Unfortunately for her, she chooses to display her dominance at the wrong time: towards the Demon King, Wrath. From that point on, her mundane life will never be the same.

Since arriving, thanks to Oracle Ciri, Wrath has become a phenomenon to the country. He's not here to be social, but on a secret, personal mission. The government fears him, and women swoon over him and his dangerously sexy good looks. As a King, everyone bows at his command. Well, everyone except for Rain and he wants to find out why.

What I thought was the first book in this series turns out to be a continuation of the previous book, A DARK VAMPIRE CURSE (where Oracle Ciri brought him forth). We are treated to a cameo appearance from Rhys Roman, Emery, Kat and my favorite scene-stealer, Dane who manages to piss off the Demon King in .03 seconds of meeting him! LOL This man needs his own damn book, Ms. St. Crowe! Please!!!!

This was an excellent start to the series; I look forward to reading book two and finding out what new adventures await this fascinating couple.

Happy reading!
