Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad

3.0

Definitely understand why I didn’t like this in high school. The writing style is pretty dense and rarely comes up for air. That’s hard to enjoy if you aren’t “a reader” and are forced to read it. Even now I do confess it made me more sleepy than any other book in recent memory. That said, I actually kinda liked it. I also liked some of the painfully obvious annotations in my high school copy as well as the denser sections I clearly skimmed over because there’s not a single note.
