stareesky 's review for:
Americanah
by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
While I really enjoyed parts of this book (primarily Ifemelu's reflection chapters), it was not my favorite. It took me a long time to get into the book and really feel where it was going and, to me, the ending was not entirely developed. That being said, I am so glad that I read it, mostly for the middle. Adichie calls out all people under the umbrella of "internationalist," "liberal," "social justice warrior," and more showing how no one "group" has all the answers. The best we can do is observe each other and our patterns and strive to connect.
