One for All
by Lillie Lainoff
This had so many things about it that I really liked but somehow I just wasn't as into this as I should have been. There was amazing feminist work, female friendships, spies and deceptions, and a hint of romance with some TRULY AMAZING disability rep. Yet... I think I just didn't fully connect with any of the characters. They were all decent characters but I wasn't particularly loving any of them.
The POTS rep was great and you could tell it was written by someone who has POTS. It was really great to read about someone facing something so chronic and learning to adapt to it. It wasn't so much about overcoming her disability, it was just learning to work her body in a way that suited her. It was great.
I loved the romance hint and even though I knew what the outcome would be there was still a part of me that was rooting for them.
I would definitely read more from this author and think this was a great debut.
