Wesley the Owl: The Remarkable Love Story of an Owl and His Girl by Stacey O'Brien
3.0
I don't often read non-fiction so my husband was surprised that I was reading this book when I started spouting off some of the owl facts I learned in it. This book is a memoir, written by a biologist who adopted an injured barn owl. She shares the story of her 19 years as his friend and caretaker. That story was a fascinating one and I learned a lot about owls in the process. I enjoyed the story but if I had to give a slight criticism to this book, it would be that it was written by someone who is not a professional writer. What it lacks in finesse with writing it makes up for with honesty and love.
