Help Me Remember by Corinne Michaels

Sucked In

The opening of this book is so gripping and compelling. The suspense and mystery is there and so much tension you'd need a chainsaw to cut it! I absolutely loved Spencer and Brielle. The guilt and struggles she faces are heartbreaking and I found myself on the verge of tears at times. Spence is truly dragged through the hell of watching the woman he loves completely forget their love story, and believe she's with other men.

I truly wanted to give this 5 stars! And I'd absolutely give the first half that rating. The second half on the other hand just sort of let me down. I think I need to remind myself that romance writers aren't mystery writers and the mysteries just aren't going to be as complex. The romance absolutely drives this book—as it should—but I was just hoping for a better conflict and climax.

This was a new to me author, so I'm not familiar with her other books. I'm assuming there's a lot of fun crossover characters that I would have eaten up had I read the previous series. But it didn't ever make me feel out of the loop or confused. They were used really well and drive me to look into their stories.

If you're looking for a great romance with a side of mystery and suspense, then this is probably a 5 star read for you! I was just hoping for a bit more.
