I caved and gave in, picked up this book purely based on hype and promise of dragons. I was going into it feeling sceptical, as I was not sure is the book truly that good, or is it just a great marketing.

Well, to say it shortly: Fourth Wing is worth the hype!

We follow Violet, the main protagonist, through her first year in a raiders school where they either die or are prepared to be perfect soldiers for the war. Yet, even though we see the world through her eyes - it's not just about her. We see so many characters grow, find themselves and some, loosing themselves.

The world building is breathtaking, dynamic between characters are strong, and their experiences - emotional, makes you feel as part of their experience. It's fast pace story, there is something happening all the time, so it kept me hooked from the beginning to the end.

To be honest, I could write a whole essay about all my theories, thoughts on characters and plot, but to be blunt: This book reminded me why fantasy became my favorite genre. It's a book that took me out of my reading slump and broke me to pieces, in all the best ways!

I loved Violet from the beginning and loved seing her grow, not only becoming stronger, but actually starting to believe in herself. It was just beautiful!

However, my favorite character is Tairn. Hands-down, the most fascinating character and he's a damn dragon, just a cherry on the cake!

The only reason the book lost half of star for me was the fact, that it's quite predictable. I didn't mind that too much, but would have liked little bit sharper plot twists.

So, if you want to fall back inlove with reading and fantasy - this is a book for you!
