Back in the world if Lyrian and having a much better time!

This book was great! It was a lot more up my alley than the first book. After the first book I wasn't sure if I was going to continue on with this series, but I'm glad I did!! Jason made his way back to Lyrian, obviously, and right if the bat he's having some crazy stuff happen to him.

We meet a couple new characters early and that was great because they were awesome! Especially Aram. I've never come across a race of Giants done quite like this before and I super appreciated it. I love when an old idea gets flipped on its head to surprise you in new and wonderful ways.

Then we meet up with Farrin again. Farrin is great. He's gotta be my favorite character easily in these books. His ambiguity is stressful, but also ingeniously written. There were some moments with Farrin where I was questioning myself about the story, but also in my own personal life and how I approach certain things. He makes the book great for me. It helps that the Displacers are another incredible fantastical creature that I love. The fact that they can take parts of there body off and put it back together is unique and creates a wide variety of things they could do.

The middle of this book dragged a little bit for me, but don't worry, it wasn't for long. And then we got to the ending which was very well done. Although the way it ended was a tad bit jarring, I still felt like it did a good job of setting up where book three is gonna go.

I had a great time with this one. And if you like fantasy I think you will too. Sure, it's clean because it's middle grade, but it is fairly dark still. And the story is well told. And the characters are spectacular. Try it. You mind end up being a fan like me.
