I loved this. A whole lot. I seem to say this with every book I read by this author no matter what name they write under but every book just sucks me in and makes me fall in love with whatever world she slaps me in and all the characters she introduces me to. In this case we revisit Everly from The Bribe and give her a love of her own. She enters into a very...complicated marriage of convenience with the broody artist Hux. Hux has a wild past and a very toxic ex wife but he stays around Calmity for his teenage daughter. Everly isn't exactly her best self after what went down after The Bribe so pf course she volunteers to help Hux and his daughter. What could go wrong? I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.
