Quicksand by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki

3.0

I have a natural aversion towards manipulative characters. But then again who doesn't? Except I hate the mere mention of them. And this whole book is about manipulation.
That being said, Tanizaki succeeded in making the air stifling, which I commend him for. You could definitely see the characters drowning in quicksand reading this.
All the characters were loathsome.
