Heart in a Box by Meredith McClaren, Kelly Thompson

3.0

I liked the premise of the story: A woman with broken heart gives it away, but after feeling apathy she embarks on a road trip to get the other pieces of her heart from various strangers who have it. The story's premise was flimsy, but it led to a really sweet exploration. The relationships she builds with some of the people is nice and the dialogue is very natural.

The art by Meredith McLaren was cute and expressive, but as time went on, didn't find it as fresh. I don't think there was enough range of facial expressions for the characters. Overall, the book was only okay for me. It didn't resonate with me, but then again, I've never had a big break up.
