Gabe is a terrific writer, and this comes across in this tender, sweet and heart-breaking short prequel to The Orchid and the Lion. We got a glimpse of Kenny and Dorian's relationship in the main novel, and this fleshes that more in a way that is both wonderful and tragic. Gabe has such a talent for writing characters that feel real and raw, and my heart was pouring out the whole time. Loved it.
