The Cider House Rules by John Irving

4.0

I thought this book was really fantastic. Started rather slow, and it's not the typical schmaltzy story about an orphanage that you might expect (although it can be, which is more than allowable). Great descriptions of things I've never given myself cause to think about (such as the finer details of Larch's profession). Overall, a very good read, although the multitude of subplots, though very rewarding, can often make you feel bogged down.
