Hm. I have mixed feelings about this book. On the positive side, I liked the descriptions of the twin cities. I felt like I understood what living in them could feel like. I also found that Calla and Anton were easy characters to understand.

On the negative side, this book was doing a lot… and probably too much. There were too many POVs, some of which didn’t amount to much. There were also sub-plots that muddled the main story and resolved unsatisfactorily. I also felt like the last third felt rushed and I, personally, didn’t feel the emotional impact it was trying to create.

Overall, this book was fine. I’ll probably read the second book since it has been released, but time will tell if I continue to wait for the last installment.
