Silverthorn by Raymond E. Feist

4.0

I first read this book in 1993, and it helped me fall in love with the fantasy genre. I only vaguely remembered it however, so was able to enjoy it all over again. I like it the best out of the first three books and can’t wait to read the last of the series and then the many tie-in series. This book was all about magic. It had good elves, bad elves, magical creatures and a Princess poisoned on her wedding day. To save her, a great magician , Pug/Milamber, put her in limbo until the elusive Silverthorn plant could be obtained. It thankfully didn’t have many battle scenes, which I don’t enjoy reading very much. And I love the Elven forest under the ice at the end of the book. I hope the next book goes into more detail as I’m a sucker for elves, lol!
