Unmentionable: The Victorian Lady's Guide to Sex, Marriage, and Manners by Therese Oneill
3.0
Very fascinating and unsettling.
I liked the tone of the narrator- I love nonfiction, but obviously it has the unfortunate reputation of sometimes being a bit dry. It was absolutely not the case here. The framework around the information (you and the narrator are traveling back in time) worked so well in this aspect.
Audiobook-wise, the narrator was wonderful and captured the writer's tone. I love it when writers break the fourth wall, speaking directly to the reader.
Note this isn't a complete "time traveler's guide" to the Victorian period. The lens is focused on women (health, lifestyle, fashion, etc.).
