The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag
by Robert A. Heinlein
Entertaining Supernatural Noir, but overall it was a sub-par execution. It lives in the shadow of the greats, never fully achieving its emotional trajectory, but seems more caught up in concepts and genre tropes. The ending is a bit weak, but somehow classically cliche and in that I take some joy & comfort.
Fortunately it is a quick read and overall enjoyable pulp.
