Blessed Monsters by Emily A. Duncan

Still considering this a guilty pleasure read where it isn’t great but you can’t help yourself in not reading it.
This book, or series general, had potential. It had magic, countries at war, gods, cross lovers, dark, and angsty inner monologues (don’t judge). A lot of my favorite tropes, but it always seemed to miss the mark. A lot of political stuff that happened, such as a new leader taking the throne, would be mentioned in a nonchalant paragraph but never delving deeper into how the conflict is fixed. A lot of bad events that happened made from one of the main characters decisions would never have any serious repercussions. And there is just so much left up in the air that I’m stunned that this is a conclusion to the trilogy.
Like I said, it was an okay series.
