I thought this was really good, it’s a cohesive and informative piece that sees Palestine and it's arguments from many different perspectives.
I specifically liked the timeline being organized by key historical moments that have gotten us to where we are now.
The thesis about shifting public opinion in a complex political environment resonated with me, probably due to my background looking at public opinion and social movements!
Good quote “Nothing else will address the core of the problem. Nor will it be sustainable and lasting. This leaves the thorny issue of how to ween Israelis to their attachment to inequality. Which is often coated as a justified by a need for security. This perceived need is to a large extent rooted in a history of insecurity and persecution. But in response to this past trauma, generations have now been brought up on a reflexive dogma of aggressive nationalism whose tenacious hold will be hard to break.”
The harsh reality is that people thrive off inequality, but why do we make the exception that this is okay only for Palestine?
Shifting attitudes among Israelis, Palestinians, Americans, and people around the globe are essential!
It was interesting to get more historical context on almost every single country and person that has recreated and shifter Judaism into Zionism, and how misinformed people are about the intentions.
Anyways, get informed.
