Wow. Honestly the last 20 chapters where a rollercoaster and just for those chapters I give it 5 stars. I was not expecting any of it. NONE.
The first 80% of the book was good but slow in my opinion. I felt like a lot of things had to happen for Maas to lead us to those perfect 20 chapters. Even so, I enjoyed all of it.
I'm not in love with Aelin, I felt that we got a different character and the way she pretended to be Celaena was off. I get that Celaena is the persona with all the trauma and that's why her behavior is more rough, I also see how after the third book she emerges from her healing journey a new person aka "a queen" and maybe is the fact that Aelin (trauma healed) is portraying Celaena (that is still suffering) just feels wrong. Off.
I am amazed and happy with the growth of most characters.
