this book is DEFINITELY not a light read, its 800 pages for a reason, such a sad book but so worth it. Some of the details are very difficult to read through, especially when you get into Jude’s backstory, but if you can stomach the graphic details then its definitely worth the read. this book is a very good example as to why you should always check the trigger warning before picking it up though. that being said it was such a beautiful story in a tragic way, and such an amazing telling on trauma and grief and how it follows you throughout life. the way they all just slowly die is so incredibly heartbreaking but it was so honest and realistic and i loved it especially with the multiple perspectives. the last chapter where Howard explains Jude’s last few months alive and how the book ended with the story from the beginning is SOOOOOO CRUSHING but it was so so beautiful i love. the several references to the beginning chapters of the book are so beautiful too, and the title is soo fitting and beautiful in its own way as well.
