When the Wind Blows
by James Patterson
I read this because I'd enjoyed the Maximum Ride series so much, and I figured I should give its predecessor a shot.
It read pretty quickly, but overall I enjoyed Maximum Ride much more—more humor, more developed characters, etc.; I'd recommend this book to Patterson fans and those wanting to see where the other series got its start, but it's not among my favorites.
I am still going to read The Lake House, which is the sequel to When the Wind Blows.
