I did not like this book, yet I couldn’t stop reading it. It’s like a train wreck. You know you shouldn’t look, but you can’t help yourself. You want to see the horribleness. I wanted to know what disturbing ideas the Circle would implement.
The main character is basically a doormat. She is beyond influentiable and would do anything to just be liked. She doesn’t question anything, doesn’t stand up for herself, and doesn’t think for herself.
The tone of the book is very YA. I’m surprised this isn’t rated as a YA book because it really should be.
I don’t recommend the book from a “I want to read a good book” perspective, but I do recommend it from a “Shit we should watch out for” perspective.
