Barracoon: The Story of the Last "Black Cargo"
by Zora Neale Hurston
The book is written in the dialect of English that Cujo, the main character speaks. It can be difficult to read at times: "So den we gittee married by de license, but I doan love my wife no mo' wid de license than I love her befo' de license".
I wish that his actual story was more of the book. The book is really short, however, his story is about a third of it, the other parts of the book are side stories, introductions, or references.
