The Rose Code by Kate Quinn
4.0

The Rose Code by Kate Quinn is #historicalfiction that takes place in Bletchley Park, England, during WWII. It’s the story of three women who work to decipher German messages at the top secret estate. They all come from different backgrounds and have different purposes. Osla is a wealthy debutant who is dating Prince Phillip before he becomes involved with Princess Elizabeth. Mab is a social-climbing commoner looking to snag a husband. Beth is a meek spinster (at age 24) with a brilliant mind and an overbearing mother. They work in different departments, but they are all changed by their roles during the war and their interactions with each other, and they must work together to find a traitor in their inner circle. In my opinion…this is really good #chicklit. Each character is well developed and relatable, though Beth’s development is a little slow. The plot meanders occasionally because of the multiple points of view, but it is interesting for the most part. This one is a great one to listen to as an audiobook for that reason. The different voices help with keeping the story straight. I give this one 4 stars as an audiobook and 3.5-ish in its written form. #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booksbooksbooks #book #books #booklover #booknerdforlife #bookrecommendations #bookrecs #bookrec #bookreview #bookaddict #read #readmorebooks #readmore #reading #readingtime
