All the Tides of Fate by Adalyn Grace
3.5
adventurous challenging slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I feel conflicted about this book, because I genuinely loved the first one. They avoided the miscommunication/lack of communication trope in All the Stars and Teeth, and so it was so refreshing to read about healthy dynamics forming. But, for this one, it feels like Amora (the MC) has taken a step backwards. And whilst I do understand why she is acting in a certain way, it just didn't feel like there was enough of a balance between that refreshing healthy communication with her emerging struggles, and I found myself not enjoying reading from her perspective (which I had before).
Overall, this one wasn't as memorable for me, and whilst I did find some connections in the plot interesting, I just thought that the plot was a lot weaker and a bit of a cop-out in trying to get the characters back out on the ship and sailing again.
I do generally enjoy this series and I was happy (mostly) with how the characters end up, but this book just fell flat for me in comparison to the first one.
