So I should have loved this book. Like Poppy is this amazing women's rights advocate and actually so is Olivia. But honestly the only character I liked was Poppy and I just felt like there wasn't enough of her. I don't know why but I didn't really like Olivia.
I don't really know I just feel like the story actually wasn't that well done.
Like Lydia is a victim of a rape and you just sort of hear that she's been raped and had an abortion and I am NOT saying I want to hear more about her being raped but it just happens and no one seems to acknowledge how that has effected her. Then Danny's sexually exploited as well and again it just happens and I suppose actually in the case of Danny you do hear about how it has effected him. I don't know honestly to me it felt like the sexual abuse was used as a plot device and I really hate that. I think it wasn't until the last chapter where they call the book "All her beautiful days" and give you the image of Poppy spinning around that you realise that Poppy is the protagonist and the main character and I would have just preferred if that was done from the beginning.

Honestly I found the book a bit of a slog because I didn't care about any of the characters (except Poppy and we know Poppy dies) and didn't really care about what happened and I think that was a combination of how it was written and how the story was conceived.
