Pride and Prejudice (everyone's official or unofficial favourite Austen) has now taken a back seat. I mean... Wow. I'm a sappy romantic at heart and while you know there has to be a happy ending I just wasn't 100% sure if it was going to be the happy ending I wanted.
Here we have a female lead, Anne, who's not a child (in my world) and is sensible and good without being simpering and unbearable. She made a mistake in her youth doing what she believed at the time to be right and she's paid for it ever since. But fate has other plans for her and she gets a chance to redeem herself.
