Oh my god this was so cute and brought me so much joy!
My new favourite fantasy romance (granted, this is my first fantasy romance)
It has vibes of Ella Enchanted (the movie), with office banter, a small mystery, in a low stakes environment, and lots of unnecessary pratfalls :)
I loved everything about this book, the highlight being the banter between the optimistic/sunshine assistant and the 'I'm totally evil and don't care about anything except my plans' grumpy Villain. I can understand if some people find the dialogue cringy but for me it was cute/witty/funny and I ate it up!
If I was forced to give a complaint, the pacing was a little to even. I felt the same level of excitement/investment throughout the entire story without any increasing tension near the end. However, this means there were no low/boring points either.
I also would have preferred the Villain to act a little more evil- as we never got him enacting any of his plans... it was more figuring out who was intercepting shipments and sabotaging him
Highly recommend this book and I AM DYING FOR A SEQUEL!!!!
