I'm not sure how I feel about this. First off and above all,

Christopher's death was so unnecessary and poorly handled it barely affected me

. Next, the pacing was weird. Not terrible, just odd, a little erratic. Really took its time on the Matthew-Cordelia-James thing at the beginning, breezed by so many other events that should've been expanded (e.g. James telling everyone about the bracelet, hello, it was supposed to be such an important scene that the past two books built up, and then it was just...that). Thirdly--and maybe most importantly--I found the payoff to be just, alright. 

Clockwork Princess just cannot be dethroned, ever.
