The reason I read this book in the first place was because of my sister, Anna. She got it for me as a birthday present as an inside joke. And it turned out to be really good.
Hannah just finished school, and the only thing on her mind is how badly she messed up her history exam. The same goes for a boy named Sam, except he's worried about his French exam. Another thing they have in common is that they're both virgins and want to lose that title. They have never met, until Hannah's best friend, Stella, throws a party and they both end up in the bathroom.
Conflicts of all sorts arise after they meet for the first time. Friends, strangers, and wrong words get in the way of them trying to be together. Stella got in the way by making out with Sam at her party. A boy got in Sam's way from being with Hannah. Alcohol also hurt their relationship. Basically Hannah and Sam were on a roller coaster.
I liked this book because it seemed like something any person would go through. Being a virgin can make people feel very uncomfortable and make people want to get it over with, even if it's not with the right person. Sam and Hannah feel like they just have to get it over with. And while they are struggling with this, they are also worrying about getting into uni. It's stuff any young adult would go through.
I also like the concept of finding you lobster. The reason it's called 'finding your lobster' is because lobsters mate for life (that apparently isn't true) but it just gives us romantics something to look for.
I really liked this book because it was a great start to my summer reading. Everything in life is complicated and I like how Hannah and Sam kept coming back to each other, even when it was completely out of nowhere. It gives hope to the whole story that when two people are meant to be together, they will come meet again.
