Had some difficulty in the very beginning of remembering what happened in the first book since it was more than a year ago that I read that one. second book continues to offer plenty of adventure. As a reader we get to know our characters better and see their relationships grow and change. Can't wait to read Book 3!

BOOK SUMMMARY (To help me remember what happens for book 3)
We pick up with Loulie, Mazen, and the shapeshifter tumbling through the sandsea to land in the Djinn city that is in political turmoil and the magic is decaying. We learn that Qadir, Loulie's bodyguard is really the Ashfire King that turned his back on the Djinn cities after sinking them beneath the sand to curb the human-Djinn war. The trio must navigate the political players, unknown territories and destroy the magic binding the cities to stay underneath the sand.

Meanwhile, Qadir is a prisoner of Omar who is know the new sultan and creating chaos. Aisha is only alive because she partnered with the Resurrectionist Djinn and focused on getting reverge.  Aisha ends up getting help from Mazen's step-brother "??" and ends up releasing Qadir.

I expect that the next book will focus on taking on and defeating Omar.
