Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens

3.0

We're diving back in to the world of the classics and... meh.
Where's the music?!!!
I jest.
Oliver Twist is what it is. Does it deserve the praise, absolutely. Is it Charles Dickens best work? No, I'm 'A Christmas Carole' GAL. But, it was enjoyable, it was stressful and it was a read that took a lot of effort.
Sometimes I wonder if I am in the wrong headspace when I read Dickens, bar ACC, as I never find myself becoming passionate about them, but perhaps I am just not as into his longer books? He really does love long sentences and background details that seem unimportant at times - so maybe we just aren't a match.
