Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.
Very much not the book for me... oof. Here are my notes as I was reading...

At the beginning of ch 4 and I kinda want to dnf.

At the beginning of ch 4 and I kinda want to dnf.
- bitching bitching bitching and moaning, right from the first few sentences.
- "prehistoric uterus" - "early 30s recruits" - "mid life crisis" - "takes every bit of my toolbox to make me look presentable. At 38, I can still pull off a hat trick or two, though my sun-kissed, dewy days are mostly behind me." .... THIRTY EIGHT?! I was fully expecting her to be like pushing 50 with all the previous crap she was saying about her age.
- "waahhhh my car broke down TOO!?!?!" Only to find out that she has needed to buy a new car for YEARS and has had the money, she simply put it off "for some inexplicable reason" and then is bitching about that... SELF-SABOTAGE oh my god I can't stand it.
- bitching about money spent EXPECTING to get a promotion... really fucking dumb. Wtf.
- I just cannot stand someone constantly creating problems for themselves. I hope she gets this out of her system asap and I can just continue on enjoying the family banter or whatever

Regarding nieces & nephews being around for days on end...
"There's nowhere to hide, and I'm used to a more uneventful and calm state of domestic existence. In that sense, I'm a true old maid."
WHY? Why are you an "old maid" because you don't have kids running around your house??? This just makes no sense to me, logically. It's not like she said she was sitting at home quietly knitting wool sweaters for the local church ladies or something. Just simply not having kids makes you an old maid?? I don't understand this logic -- it's not even that I find it offensive, it's just... dumb??

Her sister talking about having kids ....
"... when Thatch got all thug love on me the first time we had sex and said, 'you're going to have my baby.'
They are white. Why the "thug love" comment? Am I missing something here? This is weird to me.

Referring to her car breaking down in the driveway and her sister saying she's had bad luck lately:
"You think? It stopped being funny last night. The bombs seem to be appearing out of thin air before they drop. I think I've pissed off my fairy godmother somehow. All I can do now is wait for the next crap splatter."
Jesus. Girl. YOU KNEW YOUR CAR NEEDED TO BE FIXED OR REPLACED FOR LITERAL YEARS YOU SAID SO YOURSELF. The bombs are not all appearing out of nowhere... !!!!
