One of my 12 by 12 challenge picks this year came from my mother-in-law, and she chose Virgin River. Funny enough, she’s never even seen the TV show but started the series way back when it first came out. I have watched the show and enjoy it, so I was curious how the book would compare.
There are definitely a lot of differences, but once I separated them in my mind, I found myself enjoying the story for what it was. I’m not a big romance reader, so I’m not sure if I’ll keep going with the series, but I did stay engaged and thought the writing was solid.
It was a cozy, comforting read, and I can see why so many people love the Virgin River series.
