This book has been an incredible surprise. The smooth and narrative style guides reader through deep questions andof cultural, social and historical challenges of being an oppressed Palestinian in the West Bank. Emotions and interior conflicts are described through the protagonist and characters. The staging of the play brings many different figures in the West Bank to work together to express dissent where censorship is the norm. No book was more timely to read than this one since the start of the Gaza Conflcit at the end of 2023. The books gives more context behind historical facts around 1948 occupation than all the newspaper articles and essays we have been reading. Best book of this year so far.
