I was not sure what I was getting myself into when I started this book. Golems and jinnis are from very different beginnings and locations. However, this story worked, and it was weaved together very expertly. I enjoyed everything about the book from the magical realism, historical fiction, 1899 NYC setting, diversity & immigration stories. It was all really great and I cannot wait to read more from this author.
