This is a memoir by Rachel Held Evans, about her faith and life in church, and how it changed in different moments of her life. It's her personal story, but I think many Christians may see themselves in her account, and that was definitely the case for me.
I really loved her honesty and that she didn't shy away from talking about the bad things she and others have experienced in church (patriarchy, rejection, lack of empathy when dealing with loss). I felt seen, having grown up in a more conservative part of church when sometimes it's more about rules and appearing to have the perfect life, than about love and grace.
I found this book to be very comforting, full of compassion
This was a 5 stars read for me, I can't wait to read her other books.
