A bit of a slow out of the gate, but the story grabbed me about a quarter of the way through. Wonderful writing, felt like walking through Rome, Dallas, and DC of 1969. Character’s journey and story telling was gripping. Biggest complaint was the ending. The narrator is so indulgent in their story telling throughout the entire book that their coy summation of what went down in the epilogue felt like we were getting cheated out of the payoff. Would have liked to hear more about the other’s comeuppance.
