Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

5.0

An enduring tale of doomed romance. Emily Bronte perfectly encapsulated the ferocity, desperation and passion of love, I could almost feel the insatiable hunger the characters felt. A love filled with tragedy and misery and characters driven to madness and depravity, Wuthering Heights has such a beauty to its portrayal of the human response to loss, that you cannot help to question the boundary between life and death.

“He is more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same”

“You said I killed you, haunt me then! Be with me always- take any form - drive me mad! Only do not leave me in this abyss where i cannot find you! Oh god! It is unutterable! I cannot live without my life! I cannot live without my soul!”
