Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

5.0

I listened to this on audiobook. The narrartion was phenomenal and I'm so glad I chose it in this format. I was hesitant at first with this book and wanted to choose it for my BOTM subscription, but passed at the time. I am glad I ended up doing the audio version !

What a realistic, heartfelt, emotional, just wonderful story. We learn about a bank robber who ends up taking a group of strangers hostage. But that's not the focus of the story. The focus is about human nature. Who we truly are. Who we seem to be to other people. Who we are battling day to day; family, loved ones, ourselves. What is going on in our minds, our world, our lives and how this impacts every decision we make, whether it be for the good of our own self or for someone else.

This book is relatable and realistic and many times I found myself saying, YES so true! And laughing out loud at some things because it's as if Backman recorded something I would have said myself.
I just absolutely loved this book. Every emotion was felt. Sadness. Empathy. Anger. Frustration. Happiness. This book got me out of a serious audiobook slump. A MUST read/listen!
