The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

2.0

Wow... finally finished it. It took a lot out of me to finish this book. I loved The Hunger Games trilogy which is why I forced myself to finish reading this.
I was disappointed in this to say the least. It was dull, boring, unfocused, lacking emotion, and very tedious.
I started it hoping to get a better understanding of Snow, but after part 1 I was so bored I lost all interest. It did not make Snow more interesting or compelling, if anything it made him less so. There was absolutely no character arc to Snow which lead to a flat protagonist.
This story didn’t add anything to the world of Panem we already knew, except how a couple of songs came to be.
Did I hate it, not really. Would I recommend it, no.
