re-read is over and my god i'm still in love with this book. altan and rin as individual characters and a dynamic will forever be the highlight of that first book for me. chapters 21 and 24 are still as difficult as ever to read and i skipped the venka passage this time around though (not putting myself through that again). i also was able to appreciate the philosophy of the gods in more depth, and so many passages stuck with me while re-reading because i'm the furthest thing from a believer and yet the way things are written just make it make sense and make me want to know more about it... anyway i'm gonna stop ranting or i'll never stop but yeah, i CAN'T wait to get to the dragon republic and then the burning god again
