A truly classic horror book. Even if you’ve seen the movie (I just watched it for the first time back in October), the book is worth the read. It’s hard to talk about without spoilers so this is your warning to stop reading if you don’t want spoilers of a nearly 60 year old book. I love the way Levine explains away what happens to Rosemary from her point of view. She’s literally gaslighting herself as things get progressively worse, and you see her ignoring her own intuition and memory. Which I think is very relatable to myself and probably a lot of people. As it is nearing 60 years since publication, there are some things that are not in line with now. But I think that’s something you just have to understand if you’re reading books this old.
Graphic: Death, Sexual assault
