Former enslaved girl and hot anti racist vampire killing confederate vampires? Sign me up!
Though heavy at times, a YA palate cleanser was what I needed. The audio was well done and made it easy to follow along through time changes. Shorter chapters would have helped a bit, and the modern slang took me out of the story a few times, but I love a good revenge story. I'd absolutely love a story about the Saints and how they came to be.
Looking at some reviews of this book, there were some people complaining that the slavery parts were unnecessary and a bit much 🙄 This is why we need books with broader representation.
Thanks to Macmillan Audio for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
