Citizen: An American Lyric by Claudia Rankine
4.0
WOW!!! Relevant and a must read for all. Scratch that...this should not only be a require read but a definite re-read, must be done yearly. 👍🏼
Add-on: I don't ever come back to any review I do ( yes not even when I put RTC, don't judge me 😂😂) but I needed to put this/these quotes from the book which has taken up (apparently) permenant residence in my brain.
What does a victorious or defeated black woman's body, in a historically White space look like?
Because white men can't police there imagination, black men are dying.
And still you are not the guy and still you fit the description, because there is only one guy who is always the guy fitting the description.
