Bumped my rating down from 5 to 3 and it might possibly get even lower in the future.
The longer I think about this book, the more I’m starting to dislike it.
Ironically, every single character except for Nesta and her bff’s are assholes and the choices made by some of them make my blood boil.
Also, except for a few action scenes, not that much really happened? The plot is basically non-existent and all the characters are horny 24/7 and every conversation was just packed with talk about smut at the worst possible moments. Like… y’all really gonna talk about having s€x in front of someone who’s been sexually abused?? Really?
I’m really losing my love for SJM books. Most books have the same type of characters and the same type of plot to the point where it just becomes predictable what’s going to happen in her new books and a lot of that stuff, sadly, is quite problematic.
This combined with the fact that the fandom is the worst fandom I have ever encountered makes me really question whether I ever want to read a new SJM book again.
I still like Throne of Glass, but ACOTAR just ain’t it anymore for me.
