People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry

4.0

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions - there were times I wanted to get off (because the emotions were so intense) and times when I wanted the ride to last all day (because the scene was so incredible). I loved how the present summer was paired up with all the previous summers to give us a deeper understanding of Poppy and Alex's relationship and how it progressed. Alex was my favorite character. That is not to say I didn't like Poppy. It's just that her personality is so wildly different from mine that it was hard for me to connect with her. That does not at all mean she was a poorly written character. She was wonderfully written and enjoyably complex; this is purely a me thing. The humor in this story was phenomenal. I laughed so much during this book. I do still think that Beach Read is my favorite but this was a great read and I highly recommend.
