I am surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I will always give any Hades x Persephone retelling a chance and rumour had it the spice in this was great and I do enjoy my H X P novels spicy.  I will admit my expectations were low given. However, both characters are very well fleshed out, the erotica isn't overly cringy and I think the kink was very well done, and the world building is rather interesting.
One reason I am rating this so highly is because of the conversations Persephone and Hades have around consent, protection, and sexual health. IT WAS SO REFRESHING AND IMPORTANT that this was featured because it is a very real life topic in any sexual relationship whether casual or committed that is not featured enough in romance or erotica and seeing it was just so fantastic.
Also, something that is becoming a common point for me in reading Hades x Persephone retellings is my love of Hermes. I have yet to have a bad portrayal of this God and having a female Hermes was a very interesting take. I do wish Hecate was featured somehow.
