So You've Been Publicly Shamed is an important book for the times we are living in. Five years after publishing the problems mentioned here are more relevant than ever. With all the keyboard warriors and brash narcissistic content creators, we all need a book like this to shake us awake.
I suppose that the major lesson I took away from this book is just to let compassion inform your decisions. Be more empathetic. If it's not coming from a place of understanding/compassion: don't say it online. Also, not to take everything so damn seriously as well.
Ron Jonson's journalism is engaging and thoughtful. He takes you on a journey and forces you to take a hard look at the consequences cavalier judgement. I recommend this to anyone with a mind to engage on the internet.
